Top Chemical Engineering Schools in the Philippines


1. University of the Philippines Los Banos - is a public university located in the towns of Los Baños and Bay in the province of Laguna, some 63 kilometers south of Metro Manila. It was founded by American botanist Edwin Copeland on March 6, 1909 as the University of the Philippines College of Agriculture.

2. University of the Philippines Diliman - is the flagship campus, seat of administration, and the largest constituent university of the University of the Philippines System.It is located in Diliman, Quezon City in Metro Manila. It offers courses in Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, Law, Business and Economics, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Music,Archaeology and Fine Arts among others. It offers the largest number of graduate and undergraduate courses among all the universities in the Philippines.

3. University of San Carlos - is an educational institution in Cebu City. It is the oldest school in the Philippines, established by Spanish Jesuits in 1595, and it is a Roman Catholic school of higher learning governed by the Society of the Divine Word since 1935. It offers pre-elementary and basic education as well as undergraduate and graduate courses, and a broad spectrum of academic programs through its eight colleges.

4. De La Salle University - is a Catholic private university located in Taft Avenue in the district of Malate in Manila, run by the Brothers of the Christian Schools. It is the oldest campus of De La Salle Philippines, a system composed of 17 Lasallian institutions in the Philippines established in 2006 to replace the De La Salle University System.

5. Mindanao State University Iligan Institute of Technology - is an autonomous external campus of Mindanao State University System. It was chartered on July 12, 1968 as provided for in Republic Act 5363.

6. Mapua Institute of Technology - is a private, non-sectarian, Filipino tertiary institute located in Intramuros, Manila and in Makati. It was founded by Don Tomás Mapúa in 1925, a graduate in Architecture from Cornell University. After he died, the tradition is continued by his son Don Oscar B. Mapúa Sr., a graduate in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

7. Adamson University - is a private Catholic university in Manila, Philippines. It was founded on June 30, 1932 by the Greek immigrant George Lucas Adamson, who was shortly joined by his cousins Alexander Adamson and George Athos Adamson, as the Adamson School of Industrial Chemistry.

8. Saint Louis University - is an educational institution in Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines, approximately two hundred fifty kilometers north of Manila. With Baguio as Northern Philippines' center of business and commerce as well as center of education, SLU has become one of the centers for learning in the North.

9. Ateneo de Manila University - is a private university run by the Society of Jesus in the Philippines. It began in 1859 when the City of Manila handed control of the Escuela Municipal de Manila in Intramuros, Manila, to the Jesuits. It was then a state-subsidized school. It became a private school during the American occupation of the Philippines, and has moved from Manila to its current location. It received its university charter in 1959.

10. University of Saint La Salle - located in La Salle Avenue, Bacolod City, Philippines, is a Catholic private university run by the De La Salle Brothers. Established in 1952 as La Salle College - Bacolod, it is the second oldest campus originally founded by the congregation in the country. The university is a member of De La Salle Philippines, a network established in 2006 comprising 17 Lasallian institutions in the country.
